Set in the peaceful farmland of Glenquarry NSW, The Barn is a contemporary interpretation of the classic American barn, built using traditional framing techniques.
Designed by Jess Hunter and built by Corby Construction, the project evolved from guest accommodation into the client’s primary residence, shaping the need for a considered and functional interior. This full-scale design encompassed every detail from material selection inside and out to custom joinery, furniture, soft furnishings, and styling. A warm, layered palette and natural textures enhance the home’s connection to its rural setting, while thoughtful spatial planning ensures both practicality and quiet refinement.
The soaring stone chimney called for a large scale wood fire and our Stuv 21/135 wood fire was specified for its sleek design and wide glass door which retracts fully for a crackling open fire and closes for a cosy combustion fire.
